Today at King's Fellowship, we will engage with Habakkuk 1:5-11, where the Lord unveils to Habakkuk the imminent advance of the Babylonian army — a force characterized by its overwhelming might and fury. Our study will delve into the demonstration of God’s sovereign hand through the use of the Babylonians as an instrument of His discipline, the way in which He will employ them to unmask the falsehood of sin, and His display of sovereignty over all of human history to magnify His name and bring His divine purposes to fruition.

Habakkuk 1:5-11 may appear to be a bleak passage with its foretold destruction of Judah. However, for the believer, this scripture reveals God’s justice, mercy, and sovereign glory. I anticipate that this sermon will fill our hearts with awe and wonder at God’s good work on the earth, strengthen our resolve to serve Him faithfully and inspire our hearts to worship.
